I'm Julie! In 2010, I finally got clean. Over the years, I have learned a lot about what it means to be in recovery. Putting the bottle down was the easy part; building a whole new life was the bigger challenge. I was ready to do the work, though, and made my way back.
I started blogging in 2011 after I realized that the people that surrounded me didn't shame me for being addicted. They were just so happy to know that I was OK. There is a lot of stigma out there. I hope by sharing some of my thoughts and experiences with recovery that I can offer some insight to both those suffering from or around addiction.
I am a nurse and also a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. One day, I will figure out what I want to be when I grow. For now, I am combining my interests of nursing and chemical dependency. In September 2021, I will be finishing up with my RN degree and seeing what adventures await me.
